What is K-1?
K-1 is a kickboxing promotion founded in Japan in 1993. It brought together champions from different stand-up striking disciplines — karate, kickboxing, Muay Thai, kung fu and more — to compete under a unified ruleset. The "K" stands for disciplines such as Karate, Kickboxing and Kung-fu, and the "1" signifies determining the single best fighter.
What is the K-1 World Grand Prix?
The K-1 World Grand Prix is K-1's flagship heavyweight tournament, held annually since 1993 to crown the year's strongest stand-up fighter. The single-night final stage features an eight-man elimination bracket.
What is K-1 World MAX?
K-1 World MAX is K-1's premier division for fighters under 70 kg (about 154 lbs). Launched in 2002, it became hugely popular and produced stars known for fast-paced, technical kickboxing.
